The short version
What you write in your mood logs is private to you. We store only what we need to run the app, we never sell your data, and we never send anything you write — your thoughts, feelings, or ratings — to our analytics. You can export or permanently delete everything at any time.
Who we are
Daily Mood Tracker is a free self-help tool for tracking your mood and working through anxious thoughts. If you have any question about your data, email support@dailymoodtracker.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, so we can sign you in with a magic link. That's the only account detail we require — no password.
- What you write in the app — the moments you describe, the emotions and 0–100 ratings you record, your thoughts, the distortions you tag, and your reframes. This is the content of your mood logs, and it belongs to you.
- Your onboarding answers — the sex, age range, and goals you optionally select to personalize the app.
- Reminder settings, only if you turn reminders on — the time you choose, your timezone, and a browser notification token so we can send the nudge.
- Basic usage analytics — which pages get visited, your device and browser type, and an anonymous identifier. We do not send your email, or anything you write in a log, to our analytics provider.
How we use it
- To run the app — show your history, streaks, and insights.
- To send the daily reminder you asked for (only if you opted in).
- To understand, in aggregate, how the app is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising — ever.
Where your data lives
We rely on a few trusted service providers who process data only on our behalf: Supabase (secure database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), PostHog (the anonymous usage analytics described above), and an email provider that delivers your sign-in links. If you enable reminders, notifications are delivered through your browser's push service (Apple, Google, or Mozilla).
How it's protected
Your connection is encrypted (HTTPS), and the database enforces row-level security — meaning your logs are readable only by your own account, not by other users and not by accident.
Your choices and rights
You are always in control of your data. You can:
- See everything you've written, any time, in the app.
- Remove the written details of any single log while keeping your progress stats (the “Remove written details” option).
- Request a copy of your data, or permanent deletion of your account and everything in it, by emailing support@dailymoodtracker.com. Deletion is exactly that — your logs are gone for good.
Cookies
We use a small essential cookie to keep you signed in, and analytics storage to count visits. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies from third parties.
Age
Daily Mood Tracker is intended for adults 18 and over. It is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we'll change the date at the top, and for any significant change we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know.
A reminder about what this is
Daily Mood Tracker is a self-help tool, not medical care. It can't diagnose or treat anything, and it isn't a crisis service. If you're struggling, please reach out to a professional — the crisis resources at the bottom of every page are always there. See our Terms for more.
